Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery
It is a harsh fact of life in the 21st Century that organisations need to prepare for the worst. Business can be - and frequently is - disrupted by a host of factors:
- Acts of Nature: bad weather and other disasters preventing travel
- Traffic & Travel Disruption: causing delays in getting to offices
- Acts of Terrorism: damaging property and closing streets
- Pandemics: forcing people to stay at home or limiting movement
Fortunately, the inherent flexibility of converged IP technology means that planning for unforeseen circumstances has never been easier. By developing business continuity and disaster recover plans and implementing those protocols at a moment's notice, companies can ensure that they can maintain at least emergency operations, if not full operations, should the need strike.
Business Continuity (BC)
Business Continuity provides location transparent working - through IP links between offices and for teleworkers - meaning that the organisation is no longer dependent upon a specific physical location to run the business. BC means that key personnel can - in the event of travel to their normal place of work be impossible - work from another office or at home with minimal disruption to their working life.
Disaster Recovery (DR)
Disaster Recovery takes contingency planning to another level by providing a mirrored environment either to a dedicated DR location or through "cloud computing", allowing the business to continue operating from a different site should the normal property be inaccessible or no longer functionally operational.
Charterhouse and our technology partners have considerable experience in implementing BC and DR policies - indeed, we have our own procedures in place so that we can support our clients if the worst comes to the worst - and we'd welcome a consultative visit to help you to do likewise.
