“Charterhouse Voice & Data have single-handedly helped me develop from a junior administrator in customer support, to the company’s Network Team Leader. Since joining in 2004, Charterhouse has consistently provided me with training when I needed it.
Lee joined Charterhouse Voice & Data after completing his Microsoft training (MSCE & MSCA). He started as a junior administrator working on the internal help desk. Soon after, he moved to the IT field engineering team supporting client sites and implementing small installation. As time went on, Lee moved more into the installation of newer and bigger systems. He became a Network Engineer supporting installs from single site LAN's to multiple site WAN's. Lee’s completed CCNP Voice, Routing and Switch and Service Provider training and is now our Network Team Leader.

“Since my time at Charterhouse I have been involved in helping to organise our Company meetings. These are an integral part of the company and I really enjoy being part of making them happen. Most recently I helped organise our surprise 20th anniversary party. It was great that the event was a complete surprise for everyone and lovely to see people’s reaction to the three Duck Tours boats lined up ready to whisk us away for a dip in the Thames and a tour of London. This was followed by an afternoon/evening celebration at the nearby Anise Bar with a set from a famous comedian and lots of laughter and chatting. It was a wonderful day and everyone had a great time, including me!”

“To actually enjoy success, other people need to recognise you for your efforts. We like to vary our approach in terms of how we recognise people and as such we have a wide range of rewards programmes that are centred on performance, outstanding contribution and demonstrating a commitment to our core business values.
We recognise an employee of the month (as nominated by their peers) with £100 of high street vouchers and we also give birthday gifts and long service awards for 5 and 10 years’ service (50% of our team have been with us longer than 5 years). Individual effort and performance doesn’t go unnoticed either, as we recognise those who go the extra mile with the odd bottle of something or a meal out. We realise that sometimes “Thank You” means the most of all.
In recent years the service and sales teams have also been very fortunate to have been included in a number of group activities and days out of the office including a recent trip for 18 of our staff to Las Vegas where we had a fantastic time. This year we have a companywide incentive to go to Barbados which anyone that is nominated as having gone the “extra mile” has a chance to attend, as well as salespeople that over achieve against the targets set.“

"I joined in February 2011 as a Trainee Stores Assistant; since then, Charterhouse has supported my development and I'm now a 1st Line Support Advisor, liaising with clients on a regular basis. I'm currently strengthening my knowledge of all our convergence solutions and future upgrades".
Scott began as a trainee assistant in our stores, but is now one of our 1st Line Support Advisors; this involves constant communication with our customers, logging faults and assigning Engineers where necessary. Scott’s also developed his knowledge of remotely resolving faults with many of our solutions – this means our engineers are on site when and where they’re needed rather than having to travel to complete the things Scott can now do remotely. This has helped us deliver greater customer experiences.

Christine joined Charterhouse in January 2007, as a Purchase Ledger Assistant, processing invoices and expenses. As the company grew, Christine recognised the necessity to develop her role; since then she’s become a Purchase Ledger Supervisor and has progressed the role into a management position.
“I enjoy the challenges that come with guiding and developing my assistants; watching them grow in confidence and ability is so satisfying. I’ve felt as though the Directors have invested in my career and genuinely supported my own development. Overall, I enjoy working at CVD; the social activities are great fun and there’s a real sense that we’re a big happy family which I think boosts motivation with all employees”.
