Mobile Recording – The Final Solution

As you’re all no doubt painfully aware, the FSA announced at the start of this year that they were removing the existing mobile exemption from FSA Call Recording Regulations and “starting from 14th November 2011 all relevant conversations conducted on mobiles must be recorded.”

If you’re anything like our clients in the financial sector lucky enough to need to comply with the FSA, you’ll no doubt have been receiving anywhere between 5 and 10 sales calls daily for the past 6 months from all manner of organisations claiming to have ‘the’ solution for recording mobile calls.

The feedback we’ve had from our clients is that it’s simply too confusing – so many solutions, so many suppliers, so much ‘information’ – so many ‘new’ ways of doing formerly ‘simple’ things simply to “comply”.

This morning, we held a seminar at St. Pauls Cathedral in conjunction with our partners at RIM, specifically aimed at working with our clients in the financial sector to look at the BlackBerry MVS solution for compliance – to root out the myths – and to demonstrate a solution which genuinely works for our customers.

We’ve blogged before on how excited we are by this solution – but just to recap, we like the MVS solution because:

·         User behaviour: Users make or receive calls in the normal fashion – with no 3rd Party Applications – or “Gateways” – or “Comfort Messages” to worry about –

o   Phone rings?                    Press the green button.

o   Want to make a call?     Press the green button.

·         PBX Integration: Users can make or receive extension to extension calls, transfer, conference, etc. – just like a desk phone.

·         Ease of provisioning: As a fully integrated part of the RIM offering, organisations can roll out and control MVS via BES – just as BlackBerries are provisioned today.

·         Future-proofing: Again, as a native part of the RIM solution, users will be able to stay abreast with the latest updates in BlackBerry technology – without the need to ensure compatibility with 3rd party applications.

Not to mention the numerous additional benefits most organisations will enjoy through the implementation of genuine FMC convergence within their business…

Most businesses – concerned about the impact of the need to record mobile devices – have been ‘trialling’ one or multiple ‘standalone’ recording solutions - for months – to ascertain the “success” of these solutions – and it speaks volumes that few of these trials convert into early adopters.

We deployed the first MVS integration in Europe earlier this year – then the second – then the third – and so on - MVS is now ready to rock and we’re uniquely ready to deliver.

As you’d imagine, our event this morning was ‘well attended’ – and after a live demonstration of the solution I think our clients (and prospective clients!) are now as excited as we are – with a number of immediate projects identified for action.

We’re excited – the market has been screaming out for years for a genuine solution – and we’ve delivered it, we’re delivering it now and we’re going to deliver it some more.
